Curtains inadequate for blocking morning light. I felt a bit exposed at dawn!!! More privacy options would be appreciated!!! A firmer mattress would enhance comfort even further!!!

i had a simply bewildering experience at the black dog inn. the stairs were more creaky than my grandmas old bones, and despite requesting a room upgrade, i just received standard treatment. oh, and don’t even get me started on the lack of fresh flowers, very disappointing for such a 'charming' place. i thought about a good review, but i just couldn’t.

Had a lovely one-night stay as a family. The room was modern and spacious, complete with a bathroom that had both a shower and a bath. The balcony was a nice spot to relax. Breakfast was amazing and the owners were super helpful.

A lovely place to stay! The room was comfy and had everything we needed. It was a decent size for our family, and despite being above the pub, it was quiet, allowing us all to enjoy a good night's sleep. The food was fantastic, with a great breakfast selection!

Cleanliness was top-notch! The staff were super friendly and catered to everything we needed. Breakfast was delightful with local produce (especially the big pot of tea! ). Location was fantastic—so close to the South Lakes safari park and lovely fields next door!

The King Room was super comfy! The bed felt like a cloud, and I loved the Nespresso machine—it was such a nice touch. The bathroom was great too, with a brilliant shower. The decor made the place feel cozy and welcoming. Definitely a great spot to unwind after a busy day. Only downside? The curtains didn't block out the morning light very well, so I woke up a bit too early for my liking!
